1 Introduction
SurfSecret SpamDrop in an Outlook 2000/2002/XP Add-In that protects you from Spam and Viruses automatically. Best of all, its FREE for personal use! With SpamDrop, you become a member of a spam blocking community. As you delete spam from your Inbox, it gets removed from thousands of other InBoxes around the world! You receive the same benefit as a member of the community. As other members delete spam, it gets deleted from your InBox also! Don't worry - a certain number of users have to vote for a message to become Spam. This way SpamDrop works with little or no false positives!

3.1 Marking Spam
By pushing the Mark button () on a message, you are voting for a specific message to be spam. This message will be moved to the SpamDrop folder, and SpamDrop servers are notified of your vote. If a certain number of votes are accumulated on a message, the spam will be removed from other users Inboxes on the SpamDrop network.

3.2 UnMarking Spam

4.1 Whitelist & Blacklist
You can whitelist or blacklist any specific email address, domain name, or wildcard. If a newsletter is always being blocked from example@newsletters.com, you can add this email to the whitelist and no matter what the voting system says, it will never be tagged as spam. The blacklist works in the same way - if certain spam always gets through from a specific email address, you can add that email address or domain name to the blacklist.

4.3 SpamDrop Signature
In order for the SpamDrop system to work to its full effectiveness, we encourage adding the SpamDrop tag to the end of your emails. This will tell your friends that you are using a free utility to get rid of your Spam! As they join, the system becomes more effective. You can uncheck this box if you don't want to publicize your use of the SpamDrop system.

4.4 Advanced Options
Other options can be found in this dialog box. You can change the weight that you would like to define as Spam. If you find that SpamDrop is too sensitive, you can increase this number. If you find that SpamDrop isn't being sensitive enough, you can lower this threshold. If the "Check all mail automatically" option is selected, SpamDrop works hands free - we suggest leaving this checked. If you would like to have all spam marked as read after it gets moved to the SpamDrop folder, you can check off the "Mark all spam as read" box. In the lower portion of the dialog you will find informative statistics indication the number of messages you have blocked, and the number of total blocked messages.
